The Rules of the Famous Detective (original name: 名探侦の掟) is a collection of short stories by Japanese author Keigo Higashino, which contains more than ten short stories published between 1990 and 1995, featuring the detective Tenkaichi as the protagonist, and each of which is based on the theme of a different type of speculative fiction trickery, with the stories having elements of mystery solving and humor and satire, and is sure to bring a sense of empathy and a smile to the heart of readers who have some experience in reading speculative fiction. For readers who have some experience in reading mystery novels, each story is sure to bring a sense of empathy and a smile to their faces. Since I personally like this work very much, I'll try to eat two fish at the same time and post the translations of the novels, as well as write a few thoughts on the themes of each of them.
